Bench for two by Nanna Ditzel (1989)

The innovative two-seater bench was Nanna Ditzel and Fredericia Furniture’s first joint project. The sculptural united with the functional. Ditzel designed the bench in 1989, winning a Japanese design competition almost immediately. The elegant back with its striking geometric decoration is made of 1.5 mm aeroplane plywood – an ultra-thin material that is strong, light and flexible. Her inventive choice of material won over 472 other proposals. Manufacturer: Fredericia Stolefabrik.
