Conjunto designed by Joaquim Tenreiro

Tenreiro´s designs set themselves apart from others of his era through the unique curves and hand carved detailing that often is not immediately visible. The beveled edges found beneath a chair’s arms or seat, or the angle of a chair or table leg is often surprising in its grace and delicacy. He developed a language adapted to the country’s heat, using wicker and Brazilian hardwoods in abundance.
