Mexican Modernism – Furniture Design in Mexico – Part # 2 » Furniture-Sculpture “Almacén de Recuerdos-2” by María Lagunes (1975)

Furniture-Sculpture “Almacén de Recuerdos-2” by María Lagunes (1975)

Open view of María´s “Almacén de Recuerdos-3” Furniture-Sculpture. A Chest of Drawers meant to hold memorable objects. She created 4 of these furniture-sculptures in different forms; only 1 exists per version. María created these unique pieces envisioning that a sculpture – as a piece of art – may require a lot of space, so why not make it useful as well converting it into a furniture piece? Made in cedar wood.
